New Tutorial - Accessing Your Webmail & Configuring your email client

We have been hard at work adding tutorials to our website to help answer some of the questions that we get from our clients. As we are able to, we are adding these tutorials to our FAQ area. The two tutorials that we are going to highlight are inside of the Accessing Services area of the FAQ, or you can access them directly by using these links:

New Services - Audioconferencing

We have recently added audioconferencing to our list of services. Through our partnership with Envisiontel we are able to offer our clients some of the best rates in the business on audioconferencing.  Our audioconferencing page has more information if you are interested in learning more.

Website Promotion Tips

It goes without saying that if you want people to visit your website, you need to have quality content to draw them in. This has never been more important that today. With the volume of content available on the Internet growing daily, it isn't so much about just posting information (everybody is doing that). Now more and more it is about keeping your information current and constantly adding to the information to keep it fresh and keep people coming back. Here are a few tips gathered from various websites to help you get started promoting your website and generating traffic:

  1. Useful content is the beginning.  Having something that people are going to be interested in reading is the starting point. Solid writing is a must. Have someone else read your content to ensure that it reads well and says what you want it to say.
  2. Good website design is important. Your website needs to be search engine friendly (often called Search Engine Optimized or SEO). This means having URL's that search engines can follow, making use of Keyword and Description tags so that websites can better categorize your content and having images that use ALT tags to provide written descriptions of what is displayed. If you are not sure what keywords and descriptions to use for your website content, check what your competition is using.
  3. Your site should have a site map. Most search engines look for sitemaps to help ensure that they find all of the content that they are supposed to and that it is organized properly. Sitemaps can be easily created either manually or using sitemap tools specifically designed for search engines.
  4. Submitting your website to search engines. Some sites get found automatically by search engines, but others need to be submitted. The inclusion of a robots.txt file within your website will provide search engines with valuable information about what they should index and how often they should return.
  5. Many search engine use the number of other websites that link to your site to help rank how useful your content is. This means that finding other websites that will link to your content will help your ranking when people are searching for you. This also means finding alternate places to post content that links people to your site. Discussion forums, newsgroups and other public forums that are centered around what you do are excellent places to post information and drive people to your website.

These are just a few places to start in promoting your website. We will be sending more advanced tips in later newsletters.
